Plant Seeds for a Sustainable Consulting Practice
A 9-Week Accountability Group for International Development Professionals
We need a collective reframe:
Grow your international development consulting practice with a natural, low-pressure system that has proven results even in the current context. Join The Cultivated Pipeline, a 9-week accountability group journey to build a sustainable pipeline through prospect cultivation and authentic relationship-tending. No high-pressure sales—just natural, authentic growth.
Our next cohort begins the first week of June 2026 and will meet at 1pm ET on Mondays for 9 weeks.
In the global development space, we are experts at solving complex problems, yet we often struggle to maintain a consistent professional pipeline.
Building a pipeline should feel less like hunting and more like gardening.
That means you. Get out of your own way.
The Cultivated Pipeline is the container for that change. We shift the focus from pitching to relationship-driven prospect development. Using the principles of effectuation and discovery, we help you build a trellis for your business that sustains you even when you are at your busiest.
Phase 1 Germination
Weeks 1–3 focus on mapping your network and the heavy lifting of learning the system.
Map Your Landscape. Identify starting seeds and adjacent sectors.
Sort Out Your Tools. Sync your CRM and outreach systems.
Explore With Purpose. Master the Prospect Interview Process and the 70/30 Rule.
Phase 2 Cultivation
Weeks 4–6 focus on active discovery and group accountability.
Analyze Your Soil. Turn raw discovery notes into high-value market intelligence.
Iterate Your Approach. Test specific service language in low-stakes environments.
Change Your Vantage Point. Unpack the personal baggage around selling and relationship building.
Phase 3 The Bloom
Weeks 7–9 focus on weekly group meetings to ensure seeds turn into sales.
Tend Your Relationships. Troubleshooting the 70/30 Rule and holding space for clients.
Navigate the Harvest. Master the reflect and light pitch technique to transition to formal estimates.
Aim for Sustainability. Create your Minimum Viable Marketing Plan and gentle reconnection schedule.
The community-powered path to a consistent pipeline.
The hybrid model for high-impact results and personal mentorship.
This group is designed for independent consultants in the international development and social impact sectors. It is a fit for those who rely on word-of-mouth but want a more reliable way to manage their pipeline without compromising their values or using aggressive tactics.
You are in the right place. Most of our members are experts who prefer doing the work over finding it. We reframe business development as a helpful act of problem-solving. We focus on curiosity-led discovery rather than persuasive pitching.
No. If you are looking for high-volume cold calling or impersonal automated systems, this is not the right fit. We build relationships, not targets. The goal is to create authentic connections and high-value touchpoints that sound like you.
The on-demand course provides a great foundation and blueprint. This 9-week accountability group walks the path with you. You get live troubleshooting, peer feedback from other global development professionals, and the structured support needed to actually implement the system into your weekly routine.
While we discuss the role of RFPs in the global development landscape, our primary focus is on building a pipeline that reduces your dependence on them. We prioritize direct relationships and discovery calls that often lead to invited proposals rather than open competitive bidding.
Yes. The 9-week structure is an excellent way to map your network and build your professional foundation before you make the leap. It ensures that when you go full-time, your pipeline is already starting to germinate.
While attendance at every session is not mandatory to enroll, the whole point is to have a set time to hold yourself accountable! To help your scheduling: the 60-minute live accountability sessions will be held on Monday afternoons at 1:00pm ET (13:00, for my European friends). There will be 9 sessions, weekly, beginning on June 1, 2026.
